How Hanuman found Sita


Hanuman, a staunch devotee of Lord Rama. He entered Lanka and ensured Sita's well-being. He exhibited numerous feats. 

Hanuman helped to increase the strength, patience and love between Ram and Sita. In search of Seeta, we will see the journey of Hanuman in Lanka. 

1) Hanuman Regained His Power: 

After Sita's abduction, when Rama and Lakshmana were searching for her, Hanuman met them. He introduced himself to Rama and described his association with Sugriva and Jambuvan. 

To find Sita Rama told Hanuman to go to Lanka.  But Hanuman forgot his power and abilities due to a curse of sage Bhrigu lineage. Jambuvan helped him to remember those powers.

2) Confrontation with Nagas:

While crossing the Indian Ocean, Hanuman met Surasa who was the mother of Nagas. She disguised herself as a serpent. She stopped Hanuman and asked to eat a meal. But Hanuman refused it while saying he is in a hurry. 

Surasa asked Hanuman to enlarge his body for her to swallow him. Hanuman enlarged his body. And suddenly he shrank his body. He entered Surasa's mouth and came out in friction. Surasa was Impressed by his intelligence and she blessed him. 

3) Defeating the Rakshasi Maya:

In Lanka, a demoness Maya lived in the ocean. She used to catch flying birds. Seeing the shadows of birds in the water and with her delusion she used killed birds. Recognizing her deceit, Hanuman killed her to protect the birds.

4) Encounter in Subtle Form and Meeting Vibhishana:

After arriving in Lanka Hanuman saw the demonesses lLankiniguarding it. Hanuman used his subtle form to infiltrate Ravana's palace. He was wandering in the palace when he heard the chant of Jai Shri Ram from Vibhishana's palace. Hanuman met Vibhishan where he revealed Sita's location. 

Vibhishan helped Hanuman when Ravan instructed him to kill Hanuman. Vibhishan offer respect and told Ravana as "scripturally it is wrong to punish defeated enemies." 

5) Meeting Sita:

Hanuman found Sita in Ashoka Vatika and gave her Rama's ring, offering her solace. He informed her of Rama's imminent arrival to vanquish Ravana. Sita gave Hanuman her blessings.

6) Setting Ashoka Vatika Ablaze:

After speaking with Sita, Hanuman decided to destroy the garden, causing panic among the demons. He exhibited his power by setting fire to trees, and a battle ensued between Hanuman and the demons.

7) Battle with Ravana's Sons:

After knowing of Hanuman's actions, In anger, Ravana sent his son Akshay Kumar to apprehend him. Hanuman defeated Akshay Kumar. Furious, Ravana sent his powerful son Meghnad (Indrajit) to capture Hanuman. Hanuman was initially captured but managed to escape, and ultimately, Ravana's sons were defeated.

8) Burning Lanka with the Fire of Hanuman's Tail:

Ravana instructed Hanuman's tail to be set on fire as a punishment. Hanuman then used his colossal form to set fire to Lanka, starting with Ravana's palace and the city made of gold. He spared the homes of Vibhishana and the poor.

9) Carrying Sita's Message and Taking Flight Again:

Hanuman resumed his small form, met Sita again, and assured her of Rama's arrival. He then approached Rama, relaying Sita's message and giving Rama her ring. Sita's message encouraged Rama to defeat Ravana and save her.

10) Sita's Rescue:

Hanuman extinguished his tail and came in a subtle form. He carried Sita's message to Rama, informing him of her safety.

Rama's army advanced towards Lanka, and a fierce battle ensued. In the end, Ravana was defeated, and Sita was

rescued.

Hanuman's devotion, courage, and determination led to the successful rescue of Sita and the eventual defeat of Ravana.
